The Week in Arts: Sarah Jessica Parker Back for More ‘Divorce’; a Farewell to ‘My Fair Lady’

Sometimes, when a Broadway hit is each very sensible and superb, it can be very fortunate. Case in level: Bartlett Sher’s beautiful revival of Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady,” which acquired stronger relatively than weaker when it got here time for a substitute solid. Last fall, when the manufacturing misplaced its authentic Eliza Doolittle, Lauren Ambrose, it acquired an excellent funnier, extra affecting one in the type of the Tony-winning Laura Benanti. And when Diana Rigg left, the wonderful Rosemary Harris stepped in because the mom of Henry Higgins, the fusty grump performed fantastically all alongside by Harry Hadden-Paton.

That’s when the tension — abetted by mousetraps, a chain saw and monster tales — soars as high as Aaron’s beloved alps: An idyllic family vacation morphs into a quest for survival when Tristan disappears. But “Three Peaks” takes more turns, and eventually the characters descend into psychological warfare — the terrors of that creaking mountain ice are nothing compared to what lurks within a child who may not be as innocent as he appears.
